A Winning Weekend Recap
|
It was a thrilling weekend for MyRacehorse owners across the world!
Congratulations to our friends MyRacehorse Australia, who earned their first Group 1 win with Just Fine in the Metropolitan S. at Randwick with trainers Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. The 6-year-old son of Sea the Stars (Ire) makes it four wins in a row Down Under, with jockey Rachel King in the saddle for each victory. What’s next? Trainer’s Waterhouse and Bott have their eyes on the Melbourne Cup following a performance like this one. Congrats to all of Just Fine’s owners!
On Saturday in the US, one of the original MRH runners, Lane Way, secured his first graded stakes win in the G2 Eddie D. S. at Santa Anita for the Hall of Fame duo of Richard Mandella and Mike Smith. The son of Into Mischief earned a 95 Beyer Speed Figure for his performance and brought quite the celebration to the winner’s circle! All eyes are now on the Nov. 4 G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint as a potential next race target. This is a race the gelding has had his eyes on for the past two years and he deserves a chance at taking the trophy. It was a well-deserved win for Lane Way--who was a close second in last year's Eddie D.--and gave all of his owners the best kind of celebration, which can be seen in our big winner’s circle photo above!
Stakes winner and daughter of Upstart Micro Share put in a third-place finish on Sunday in the G2 Zenyatta S. Although just a four-horse field, the one to beat was multiple graded stakes winner Adare Manor, who won the race impressively. Following a three-win campaign it was still great to see our filly grab graded black-type.
This past weekend at Santa Anita we also held two fun events. Meeting fellow owners, enjoying good food and drinks and great racing always make for a special time. Learn all about our upcoming events here, highlighted by our MyRacehorse Owners Friends and Family event Breeders’ Cup weekend at Santa Anita.
We’ll be back this weekend with a preview of what’s to come. Congratulations again to all involved in this past weekend's successes!
