lauding - caulfield race 5 @ 2:15pm AEST - barrier 5 - luke cartwright - 2000m
Lauding heads to Caulfield to tackle a BM78 over 2000m. I love that he goes back in grade from 84 to 78. He wasn’t disgraced last start against Wonder Kid and remains at a Good track here, which is definitely a positive for him. He should be getting very close to his peak here 4th up, and he’s built a good base of fitness from his runs this prep. I expect a very-much improved showing this time in.
glory daze - rosehill race 9 @ 3:50pm AEST - barrier 6 - ash morgan - 2000m
Glory Daze heads to the Listed McKell Cup over 2000m at Rosehill. Annoyingly, the rain has stayed away in Sydney, so he will be running on a Good track. However, we feel that he is in career-best form and the track conditions, whilst not ideal, aren’t the end of the world. He comes into this race with a low weight after his run at Listed level last start, where he finished 3rd. Love the booking of Ash Morgan, who has been riding well for the MRH stable at the moment, and we expect him to be very competitive here.
newy - newcastle race 2 @ 12:30pm AEST - barrier 7 - andrew gibbons - 900m
Newy heads to Newcastle (his home track) for a 900m Super Maiden on Saturday. It was a bit of a head-scratcher last start; however, looking deeper into the form, the race may have just been too good for him at the time. Several horses from that race have subsequently won, and won well, which gives us confidence. He will have hundreds of owners on course cheering him on, so hopefully we can hear a roar and he can do the Novocastrians proud.
sunday
Capulet - ballarat race 6 @ 2:40pm aest - barrier 12 - courtney bellamy - 1600m
Capulet steps up in trip from 1500m to 1600m this start, which she is sure to benefit from. However, I would say that this run is just a fitness-builder for her as she prepares to step out over 2000m 3rd or 4th up. Whilst she may not win on Sunday, we expect her to be hitting the line strongly and setting herself up for a peak 3rd up.
our sassy lady - ballarat race 7 @ 3:15Pm aest - barrier 10 - dean yendall - 1600m
Our Sassy Lady heads to Ballarat for a BM64 over 1600m on Sunday. She has been largely disappointing in her races this preparation, so this run becomes an important run for her this preparation to build her confidence. On her best form, she is well and truly up to this grade, but we need to see her do it again.
