wednesday preview - medieval warrior debuts!

Sandown - Medieval Warrior Debut - Race 2 Sandown @ 1:35pm - Quick-Fire Runner-By-Runner

#1 Stay Comic – Drawn perfectly in gate, brings strong winning form. He won like a horse with some class and upside. 1300m on a big wide track like Sandown should to suit. In the market for a reason! Can win

#2 Let It Beel – Good first up run. Savabeel will eat up 1300m and hit the line strong over 1100m. He has Zac Spain on who rides plenty for the stable. Has to be a threat as Pakenham form always stacks up. Progressive type.

#3 Medieval Warrior – Barrier 1, champion jockey Mark Zahra takes the ride. He has stuck with this horse all along and has demanded the ride. Trialled up well and the early market support suggests he is the one to beat. Should improve the further he steps out.

#4 Mortal Peak – Blinkers on. Trialled up ok, suggest he will be a little out of his depth in this race. The fact the trainer is bringing him here may suggest the horse has some ability.

#5 Warrior Smile – The Hayes boys kicked him off in a Stakes race which suggests the opinion that they have of this son of Saxon Warrior. Winkers are applied and if he brings his best is a major chance in this race.

#6 Different Gravy – Interesting runner. By Ghaiyyath so should improve the further it goes. Look at him to be closing late, however ultimately will need further and find these a little too slick. Prefer others.

#7 Queen Of The Surf – Brings the Stay Comic form. Worked home very well and with natural improvement could be a danger. Looks as though it’ll love Sandown and is one to keep and eye on and possibly follow.

Hawkesbury - Bear On The Loose vs Glory Daze - Race 5 @ 3:10pm

  • What a match race! This is the first time since 2022 that 2 MyRacehorse horses have raced against each other. Both horses return first up after a few trials. Of the two horses,

  •

  • I probably have Bear On The Loose ahead, as he has a better draw, a lower weight, and probably has the track conditions suit him better. I feel that Glory Daze needs rain to show his best, of which I don’t think he will get on Wednesday. Bear On the Loose has a good fresh record (2:1:0:1) and goes on top, but the MRH community will be cheering for the quinella!

Starmae Returns - Hawkesbury Race 7 @ 4:20pm

  • It’s great to see Starmae back at the races on Wednesday. She heads to a BM72 over 1100m and is drawn a little bit sticky. She gets the MRH cult hero, Rachel King, which is a very positive jockey booking.

  •

  • Her trial form has stood up with Ballroom Bella coming out and winning following the trial in front of Starmae. I’d say that based on the map and the barrier, she will probably get back and run on. I expect to see her hitting her straps late and if she can get tempo to suit, she could be winning.
