- Hailing from New Zealand, Bjorn Baker has racing in his blood. Growing up under the guidance of his father, champion trainer Murray Baker, Bjorn gained invaluable experience while also earning a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1999. After officially joining his father’s stable in 2007, the duo formed a partnership in 2008, training over 30 stakes winners in just three seasons.
In 2011, Baker made the move to Australia, setting up his own stable at Warwick Farm. Early success with stayers laid the foundation, but it was two-year-old colt Unencumbered’s victory in the 2014 Magic Millions Classic that truly put him on the map. Two years later, he claimed his first Group 1 victory with Music Magnate in the Doomben 10,000, and the winners have kept flowing ever since.
