Blue Hotel Wins on Debut
When exciting filly Blue Hotel (I Am Invincible) won the Listed Dequettivile Stakes on the weekend, a few of you may have recalled her name. Blue Hotel trialled against our very own Katsumi Orochi at Balnarring, matching motors and crossing the line together. Blue Hotel demonstrated the ability that only good horses do. After being held up all the way, she found clear air and managed to fend off her rivals to win by 1.3L. The form around Katsumi Orochi through his sole race at Caulfield and now through the trials is proving to be elite stakes form. Only a handful of shares remain in Katsumi Orochi!
The Rise of Farnan
The promising stallion Farnan is making a late surge up the first season sire table, currently sitting in third behind Ole Kirk and Wootton Bassett. The progeny of the Golden Slipper winner just keep on winning. He had the quinella in Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes with King Of Pop and North England fighting out the finish. His progeny have taken a little longer to kick into gear, so the team at MyRacehorse are salivating over the potential of our very own Ninja. A November foal out of a So You Think mare, Ninja is back in work and looks poised to strike at the end of his 2yo campaign into his 3yo season. Trainer Michael Freedman couldn’t be more impressed with his progress.
He Certainly Did It!
Willydoit has quickly become a hero for the MyRacehorse owners. The tough son of Tarzino finished fourth in the Australian Derby on Saturday. The race shape didn’t suit him as much as the New Zealand Derby did. The slow tempo played into the hands of Aeliana and she sprinted away stamping herself as one of the country’s most exciting 3yos. Willy had an amazing preparation, four wins including a Group 1. A phenomenal effort for a horse in just their first ever preparation. He has deserved a nice long break and will now join the juggernaut Ciaron Maher operation. He is far from the finished product and Ciaron will plot his Spring campaign in the coming weeks. If you would love to continue the ownership with the duo who took Willydoit to Group 1 Glory – Shaun & Emma Clotworthy, we have some shares remaining in our Contributer colt, who is just returning to the stable to be broken in by Shaun himself.
Too Darn Good!
The Darley breeding operation has announced the sire on fire… Too Darn Hot will return to Australian shores for the upcoming breeding season! The catch is however he will now stand for a whopping $275,000…. Compared to $44,000 when he first came here for duty. These numbers highlight the success of his progeny worldwide. It will have a direct impact on the price of all Too Darn Hot yearling’s. MyRacehorse have gone chips in on many of his progeny (Charcoals, Volkano, Bold Strike, Awake The Stars) and following the fee increase, our colt out of Awake The Stars looks to be a shrewd buy from the Magic Millions sale.
Lee Freedman 2YO Crop dominance continues!
Hall of fame trainer Lee Freedman continues to produce and develop class 2YO runners, with 3 Saturday winners making their mark up in Queensland – Profoundly, Idyllic Affair and Blinding Speed. Recently we acquired a very exciting 2YO filly by Anders who is going toe to toe with this crop of 2YO runners and is seriously holding her own, showing the same qualities that have taken them to success and now you can own her too for only $82 during our Early Bird period (usually $93). Don’t miss out on our latest acquisition!
