CIRCUS MAXIMUS SIRES 2YO STAKES WINNER
Well, it was a bittersweet result for MyRacehorse after making the call to scratch recent acquisition Engine of War from the Listed Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre Stakes over 1400m at Te Rapa on Saturday. The eventual winner shared a scarily similar profile to Engine of War – also a big rangey 2YO by Circus Maximus, jumped from Barrier 1, had finished 3rd in a maiden at his last start and had an SP profile of $11. Towering Vision sharply improved stepping up in trip, which is something we expect of Engine of War.
In more Engine of War news – his maiden form has been franked with second placing, Spandeedo breaking his maiden in style at Trentham this week.

ANOTHER 2YO STAKES WINNER FOR OLE KIRK
At the risk of sounding like a broken record – Ole Kirk has miraculously sired yet another 2YO stakes winner, with AERODROME saluting for MyRacehorse trainer, Michael Freedman in the Clarendon Stakes at Hawkesbury. Ole Kirk continues his dominance in the stallion ranks justifying his recent stallion fee increase ($90k), he is the leading first season sire by winners (10), and earnings $2.8M. Of all stallions, Ole Kirk sits second in both 2YO Earnings and Winners, only Snitzel is beating him. Ole Kirks growing honour roll of stakes winners includes: King Kirk, Aerodrome, O’Ole, Legacy Bound and Prestige Forever. The performance of the stallion (who himself was a much better 3YO), has continued to increase the value of our Ole Kirk colt who is a full brother to stakes winner King Kirk.
TWO MORE WINNERS FOR SAVVY 2YO STALLION, WOOTTON BASSETT
Wootton Bassett continues to demonstrate that he is far more than just an early 2YO sire in Australia. On Wednesday at Warwick Farm he sired the winners of both 2YO races with Regulated Affair, and Agarwood. Both juveniles appear to be exciting types who could now look to the QLD winter carnival where we expect to see more Wootton Bassetts competing in the best 2YO races. When it comes to 2YOs, there is no better combo than Michael Freedman and Wootton Bassett, our Magic Millions yearling is nearly 2YO, he’s been well educated and now returns to work in the Randwick stable.
