He Is Too Darn Hot
Dominant sire Too Darn Hot once again produces heat, this time with Rivellino, who took out the Group 2 Skyline Stakes over 1200m with ease on Saturday at Randwick. This stallion does not stop. Following a weekend where he sired three individual Group winners, he once again boosts his resume.
What can’t this stallion do? He currently sits atop the second-season sires, having 72 runners for 34 wins and over $6 million in Prizemoney, more than $2 million in front of the 2nd placed sire, Blue Point. Too Darn Hot showed us that both his 3YOs and 2YOs are dominant types and will only improve as they mature and develop
Unfortunately for breeders and buyers alike, Too Darn Hot is no longer being shuttled to Australia, making his progeny extremely sought after. Luckily for you, we have three Too Darn Hots available, including a colt out of Awake The Stars, Bold Strike, and Volkano.
Royal Insignia, Point And Shoot Fight It Out With The Best
Both Sir Woodpecker and The Enchanter did not have it easy when taking the track for their first time.
For Sir Woodpecker owners, you would be familiar with Royal Insignia, who deprived your boy of a debut win at Kyneton in November of last year. What’s so promising is that so much went wrong for Sir Woodpecker in this race, yet he still managed to stay within 3L of a Group 1 quality horse. A firm track jarred him up, and he overraced after jumping poorly from the gates. There is so much room to improve for Sir Woodpecker, and it’s exciting to have his ability backed up by a Group 1 runner.
The same can be said for exciting MyRacehorse runner The Enchanter, who was tasked with racing against Point and Shoot in his first outing at Nowra. The Enchanter fell 1.18 lengths short of success in his this race. Point and Shoot has gone on to place in 4 of his last 5 starts, including two massive wins for a combined winning margin of over 8 lengths! He also had a valiant run on the weekend in the Group 1 Australian Guineas, where he flopped out of the gates.
Lindsay Park’s Stakes Success
The Lindsay Park boys had a weekend to remember, taking out a listed 2YO race and the Group 2 Blamey Stakes at HQ. Will, Ben and JD started their day in fine form, with their promising 2YO sprinter Shining Smile, dominating Race 1 down the straight, winning by 0.75 lengths. The trio of brothers once again took out the top prize in Race 6, with Marble Arch winning the Group 2 Blamey Stakes by an arrogant 2 lengths. We have an exciting week ahead with the Hayes boys as Sneaky Sunrise lines up in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes.
