Slam Dunks Axelrod 2nd in Pennsylvania Derby!

Congratulations to Slam Dunk Racing’s Axelrod who finished a valiant second to Bob Baffert’s McKinzie in Saturday’s $1 million Pennsylvania Derby. Axelrod was coming off impressive wins in the Smarty Jones Stakes and Indiana Derby prior to Saturday.

Slam Dunk is the majority owner of our two-year old filly Cairo Kiss trained by Phil D’Amato, who is slated to return to training in the upcoming weeks.

Cairo Kiss Update

We visited Cairo Kiss out at Bonnie Acres Farm earlier this week. She’s looking great and is on track to join Phil’s barn in the upcoming weeks. She’s been training on the Aquaciser at Bonnie Acres to help aid in her recovery. The Aquaciser is a submerged treadmill in a whirlpool/swimming pool type setting. It is designed to be therapeutic for horses and helps aid in  strengthening and conditioning. She looks like she’s having a blast!
