Celebrity News Race Entry

Celebrity News has been entered in the $200,000 Park Avenue Stakes going six and a half furlongs at Aqueduct on Sunday, April 24th. With Manny Franco staying aboard, Celebrity News will add blinkers for the first time as she breaks from post four of seven in this race which is restricted to the progeny of horses sired by New York-based stallions at the time of conception. Taking the step into stakes is tough for any horse, especially one that is a maiden, but after Celebrity News’ closing performance last out, George Weaver thought this would be a terrific stepping-stone for our daughter of Laoban and a good opportunity to acquire some black-type, which would add to her residual value as a future broodmare.

Eric was given the mount as he and Javier are represented by the same agent. If you are interested in joining us at Aqueduct for the day, please click here. Post time is 3:26 p.m. ET.

Miss Sakamoto Race Entry

After the race for 3-year-old fillies going five furlongs on the turf was not carded and not brought back on the overnight, Christophe Clement began brainstorming. After being contacted for help by the Gulfstream Park racing office for a race carrying the same conditions, but for males, Christophe thought the weight allowance would benefit our 3-year-old More than Ready filly. With that being said, Miss Sakamoto has been entered in the first race on Friday, April 22nd, at Gulfstream Park. Breaking from post five in the seven-horse field, Junior Alvarado will be aboard carrying at least five pounds less than any other competitor. We will have a paddock lottery and seating options out in the coming days.
