Nileist worked an easy 3 furlongs on the training track in 37.20 seconds this morning at Santa Anita. He went very nice, it was exactly what I was looking for.
I’m going to bypass this Saturday’s race at Los Alamitos and point to the same spot on July 11th at Los Alamitos. I want to give Nileist a few extra weeks after his first race back off a long layoff earlier this month.
Nileist is officially entered this Thursday, June 6th at Golden Gate, a maiden $20,000 for 3 years old and up going 1 mile and a sixteenth on the turf course. Ruben Fuentes is in the irons breaking from the 6 post in race number 4. Ruben was also aboard her in the most recent workout today, he really liked his work today and will be traveling up to Golden Gate for us.
Nileist worked 6 furlongs in 1:14.80 this morning. I was extremely happy with this work from Nileist, he continues to improve week by week. The track was very deep today due to the rain two days ago but he couldn’t have handled it better. He is scheduled to work one more time and then we will look to enter him for a race on June 8th.
Nileist worked five furlongs in 1:02 flat, Friday morning. He went great, finishing well coming home the final 1/4 in 24.20 & final 1/8 in 11.80. Heriberto Figueroa was aboard for this workout, he was very pleased the way Nileist traveled. Figueroa did say Nileist progressively got better as the work went on and galloped out strong.
We will see how he comes out of the work over the next few days and hopefully begin to look for a race!
Nileist worked 5 furlongs in 1:03.60 Friday morning. This was a solo workout, he went great. He will have one more work next week, then we will look for a race. He will most likely need the first race back coming off this layoff, I’d rather run him into shape then continue to work him.
Nileist worked in company Friday morning, going 4 furlongs in 49.40. He worked very well, even though the time wasn’t the fastest, he did it the right way. Just what I was looking for!
Nileist worked a very nice four furlongs in 50 seconds flat this morning at Santa Anita. Very happy with the work.
Nileist will work at 7:45 tomorrow morning. He’s doing really well right now.
Nileist worked three furlongs in 37.8 seconds this morning at Santa Anita. It was a good start with him, feet are still a bit sore so we’ll be taking baby steps.
