Zoustar x Lucy Mae Update

Hi Owners,

Trainer Bjorn Baker has provided an update on Zoustar x Lucy Mae which you can listen to attached.

Your filly has had four weeks breaking in and is doing well.

Due to the flooding the stable will be moving her to another property.

Own with the Blue Diamond Kings! Following Daumier’s thrilling win on Saturday, Anthony & Sam Freedman have now won 3 of the last 4 Blue Diamond’s (Hanseatic ran 2nd the year they missed). Get involved with the team through our Grunt x Marquise Da Rossa colt! Click here to view.

Gotebo Spelling Update

Hi Owners,

The farrier paid a visit to Gotebo last week to inspect his hoof. He has elected to shoe him in a wide steel normal shoe with some added width at the toe to offer him a bit more support here while his foot continues to recover. He appears to be comfortable in these shoes and the team will continue monitor him over the coming days.

Gotebo has also been doing some short periods of slow walking on the walker to keep him moving and aid in his recovery from his gelding operation.

Deep Point Progress Report

Hi Owners,

An update has been provided on Deep Point, who was transported to Andrew Bobbin last week to work on the heavy sand.

Your colt has settled in well. The sand and water work will allow the stable to build Deep Point’s fitness while limiting the impact on his joints.

All going well, he is 4-5 weeks away from a jump out.

Forbidden Kingdom Race Entry

We are thrilled to announce Forbidden Kingdom has been officially entered in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita Park on March 5th.

The San Felipe is contested at 1 1/16-mile and is a Road to the Kentucky Derby prep race offering 50 qualification points to the winner, enough to virtually guarantee a spot in the Churchill Downs starting gate. An exciting time of the year where the 3-year-olds begin to separate themselves from one another. It’s pretty special to have a horse in a race like this, especially one purchased as a yearling, not to mention Forbidden Kingdom will likely be a top contender in this race given his most recent win in the San Vicente.

Forbidden Kingdom drew Post 6 in the seven-horse field for Race 6, which has an approximate 2:30 p.m PT post time. Juan Hernandez will return to ride.

Be on the lookout for a pre-race analysis from our team later this week.

Straight No Chaser Update

An x-ray was taken this weekend of Straight No Chaser’s hind left tibia and it did reveal a callus.

He has jogged up much better each day according to trainer Dan Blacker and should be back moving fully sound on it by the middle or end of this week. The 3-year-old colt will have to take a brief step back in his training but will not have been removed from training. Once he is back moving sound, Straight No Chaser will jog for 30 days before returning to full training.

This type of injury is comparable to a horse starting to form a shin in the front leg. It has been caught in the very early stages and his prognosis is excellent to return to full training.
