Popular Demand Workout Report

Popular Demand breezed 5 furlongs in 1:01 flat this morning at Santa Anita. The 3-year-old colt breeze in company with a stablemate.

“A very nice first 5/8th’s work from Popular Demand. He’s making solid progress”, said assistant trainer Gary Mandella.

Popular Demand will likely return with another 5/8th’s of a mile breeze next week and the following. While we are inching closer to this colt’s debut, he still has a little ways to go from a fitness standpoint and gate work.

We are still waiting on the workout video from XBTV. Once we receive it, we will follow up with an additional update.

Bella Chica Workout Report

Bella Chica had her final “tune-up” breeze this morning for her next anticipated start on May 8th.

The 5-year-old filly covered 5 furlongs in 1:01.80 while breezing on the inside of company. Bella Chica always traveled comfortably in this drill and is coming into her targeted race in great form according to trainer Mike Puype.

Entries will be taken on Wednesday, May 5th for Saturday.

Above Suspicion Workout Report

Above Suspicion moved on to her first 3-furlong breeze this morning at Santa Anita, working on the inside of stablemate, Hypnotize. The duo covered 3/8th’s of a mile in 38.20 seconds. Very similar to last week’s breeze, Above Suspicion traveled under a strong hold from exercise rider, Austin Solis, and did it willingly. The 2-year-old filly finished well and galloped out strong yet again.

“She’s improving every week”, said Team Mandella.

Thirteen Stripes Workout Report

Thirteen Stripes worked three furlongs in 37.2 seconds this morning at Indiana Grand Race Course on the dirt. This is the filly’s last work before her first start on May 3rd.
