The swelling in Shared Empire’s left hind leg has improved and she is doing well. Trainer, Tom Amoss reported she went to the track this morning and got to really stretch her legs, picking up a light gallop. Pending everything still looks good in the morning she will be added back to the work tab at the end of the week/weekend.
We will check back in with Tom Amoss tomorrow and report back.
Carpe Vinum had her final breeze at Churchill Downs this morning prior to the barn moving to Keeneland. She worked a steady, maintenance 5 furlongs in 1:02.8 over the Churchill main track. As trainer Phil D’Amato mentioned last week, he wasn’t looking for anything special from her working over the main track.
Carpe Vinum will be shipping to Keeneland in the coming days. We will be working to have her works filmed moving forward and provide additional content after she arrives. She remains on track for an allowance race at Keeneland towards the end of October.
Squared Straight moved onto his first 5/8th’s of a mile work yesterday morning since returning from the layoff. He covered the 5 furlongs in 1:02 flat. This was a solo breeze with the blinkers added back on.
Assistant trainer Stephanie Murray reported Squared Straight got a little tired and had to be asked to finish up but he should gain a lot of fitness from this work. Next week, we should see an improved 5 furlong drill.
