Officially on the Worktab

Annahilate had his first official breeze this morning at Santa Anita traveling 3 furlongs in 36 seconds flat on the main track.  A solid first work from him, coming back as the 3rd best from 17 workers at the distance. Annahilate being on the bigger size body wise took a little time to get his fitness where it needed to be but has progressed well. Today was a very good starting point for him and he will continue to build his foundation each week. Pending he comes out of the work in good order as expected, Annahilate should return right back in the next 7-10 days with another 3 furlong drill.

It does not look like XBTV was able to catch his workout this week. We will do our best next week to get some footage of him in action.

Account Financials Update

We are very excited to see Lazy Daisy make her three-year old debut in this Friday’s $400,000 Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park. While it is a very tough field we’re hopeful this is just the start of many stakes runs this year. Best of luck to everyone.

The Lazy Daisy current reserve account is negative $5,298.33 with a target reserve of $4,907.03. As a result, we are only projecting a payout if Lazy Daisy wins the Fantasy Stakes. A win would give us a projected amount of $19,887.50 for account distribution. After bringing the reserve account to its target level of $4,907.03 the amount available for distribution would be $9,682.14 or $7.75/share payout.

Purse money earned outside of a first place finish would go towards replenishing the reserve account.

*Reminder: amounts remaining in the reserve account at the end of Lazy Daisy’s racing career are distributed back to the shareholders.

Workout Report

Lane Way worked a razor sharp 5 furlongs this morning in 59.80 seconds (2nd best of the morning) over the Santa Anita main track. Team Mandella reported he cruised down the stretch and looked great doing it.  As many of you may of heard the positive news yesterday, a condition book will be released later today with the anticipation of racing returning to Santa Anita on May 15th. Lane Way will have at least one more work next week but then his schedule will depend on when a race for him comes up. He continues in good order and will be ready to go.

If a video of his work is posted later this morning we will send it out right away.

Workout Report

Utalknboutpractice continues to roll right along working another half mile in 49.4 seconds this morning at San Luis Rey. Trainer Peter Miller reports he has been doing well since consistently returning back on the work tab at the end of March.  Utalknboutpractice being on the heavier side, the consistency has been key to the progression in his body and fitness to get where it needs to be. Pending he comes out of the work in good order, he will return back on the work tab next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Half Sister Running on Thursday

Miss Bigly, a half sister to Miss Puzzle 17, is running this upcoming Thursday at Oaklawn Park. Miss Bigly has been on a roll since the end of 2019, winning 4 of her last 7 races. Miss Bigly was knocking on the door for her first career win throughout the end of 2018 and early 2019 in Southern California. It wasn’t until she made her first start off of the turf due to weather, where she romped to a 10 length victory on a muddy dirt track. She has now found a new home on the dirt where she is 4 for 5 with a 3rd. She is up against a loaded field of eight other fillies in this allowance race which could easily be a graded stakes race based on quality. This nine horse field is made up of seven black type winners, four of them being graded stakes winners.

Track: Oaklawn Park – Race 8 – #3 Miss Bigly – Post Time: 2:38 PM PST.

Daughter of Into Mischief Wins Big

ICYMI: Mia Mischief, the five year old daughter of Into Mischief, bred by Spendthrift Farm, won impressively in the Carousel Stakes this past weekend at Oaklawn Park. A grade 1 winner, dual graded stake winner and now six time black type winner. This mare has shown tremendous ability from the start, breaking her maiden as a two year old in her second career start by 16+ lengths.

In November 2019, Mia Mischief was sold in the Fasig Tipton “The November Sale” which is the world’s premier breeding stock event. The November Sale is held annually following the Breeders’ Cup. Mia Mischief went through the ring as a racing/broodmare prospect bringing $2.4 million dollars. At the time she was already a grade 1 winner and multiple graded stakes winner but this shows what having great pedigree and success on the race track can do for a filly/mare’s residual value.  The lucky buyers Stonestreet Stables, decided to campaign her in 2020 and proved to be a good decision as she’s 2 for 2 this year.
