Race Recap

Another solid effort today from Carpe Vinum in her first effort vs. winners finishing 3rd in the 6th race at Santa Anita.  Overall, our trip went to plan.  Prior to the race, Phil told Abel his other horse was probably a touch faster out of the gate and to sit right off.  Carpe tracked in 3rd along the rail, splitting horses at the top of the stretch just getting nosed out  for second.  Carpe Vinum is still figuring things out and showed signs of being green but is something that comes with inexperience.  After the race, Phil said it is part of the learning process.  She is a filly who will continue to get better with time and experience.  Phil also believes she proved she can sit in a spot where the winner did and make that kind of move now.
