A tough defeat but another great effort from Tiz in the 10th race at Del Mar. Tizamagican loomed large as they hit the top of the stretch, falling just short finishing 2nd beaten a length. We all want to get Tizamagician in the winner circle but it’s hard to knock yet again a productive and hard trying performance. If we had to knit pick, he had a touch of a wide trip and took a few strides to settle off the leaders as they hit the backstretch. In the final 1/8th of a mile, Tizamagician tried his heart out to get by but hats off to the winner, Impossible Task who did the work up front and finished gamely. Tizamagician appeared to exit out of the race in good order. We will check in with Team Mandella over the next few days.

Update
Amandrea scoped clean out of her race yesterday and was in good order today. Sometimes when a horse stops abruptly like she did yesterday there’s a chance they bled through lasix but fortunately this was not the case. She’ll likely be headed down to Fairgrounds for the winter and we’ll be looking at some easier spots for her next out.
Race Recap
Tough weekend at Churchill Downs as Wayne O did not go on as he turned for home. Breaking alertly as usual he settled beautifully off the pace again for jockey Tyler Gaffalione and as they turned for home he had every right to go on but just plain didn’t fire. Trainer Steve Asmussen and Tyler both said that they didn’t feel the off track was an issue for him. We’ll get together with co-owner Spendthrift Farm and Steve here shortly and discuss a potential short layoff for Wayne O as he heads into his three year old season.
