Taking on Clerk this weekend! I can’t see why anyone would be jumping off Asfoora after her first-up win. She’s the clear class horse in the race, and will only have taken big benefit from her last start after a long layoff. Henry Dwyer has a knack for getting this horse in particular right for raceday, and while she’s never won over 1200m and it is a sticky barrier, I’ve got full confidence Mitch Aitken can get her into a nice position before unleashing her down the straight and putting the field away.

Talented UK galloper who has been bought by Yulong to join their elite band of broodmares once her career is over. Carrying feathers with 54kgs on her back. Will jump from barrier 11 and look to be positive with not a whole heap of pressure on her inside. 15mm of rain forecasted on saturday, she has a 3:2 record on the heavy surface and placed in every run on a soft deck. Big odds.

Always risky making your best bet a 2yo that’s lightly raced, however, I think this colt by Capitalist has some ability as a short course sprinter. On debut, he was 4th to our very own King Kirk, and was only beaten by under 2 lengths. He then went out for a spell and had 3 trials before being narrowly beaten fresh by Aerodrome. Love the drop back to 1100m from 1200m here and gets back to Randwick. If it’s wet, that will be fine, as this colt has had his most impressive trial on heavy ground.

Going back to the well with Too Darn Lizzie. I do love a Too Darn Hot (Shares available in Volkano for those interested) and think Elizabeth will be too classy for the field. 3 places so far this prep, she is absolutely due a win and I think the breakout to 2000m will do it for her.
