Best Bets from MyRacehorse HQ - 7th/8th Feb

The team at MyRacehorse look around the tracks to provide you their best bet for the weekend.

Théo (A.K.A. The Flying Dumpling): Caulfield Race 6 - #2 Maharba

  • I think Maharba has the class to go to another level this prep, and it should start with a win here. He was stiff not to catch Overpass for a maiden G1 win last start, rattling home late to run 2nd in the Winterbottom, and was good first up last prep. He beat Rey Magnerio when they met on Derby day in the spring, and meets him 2.5kgs better off this time. He’s trialled well enough in the lead-up to this to suggest to me he can get the job done and move on to bigger things.

Tom S (A.K.A Tense): Caulfield Race 10 - #4 Arabian Summer

Xavier (A.K.A Caveman): Moonee Valley Race 4 - #7 Oak Hill

  • I think Maharba has the class to go to another level this prep, and it should start with a win here. Nathan (A.K.A King): Moonee Valley Race 5 - #1 Speir

  • This horse is absolutely flying and now heads to an 888m race at The Valley. This horse is seriously fast, and the short distance will suit him perfectly. He will jump, lead and win.

Tom C (A.K.A Tomasi): Caulfield Race 9 - #5 Another Wil

  • Resuming and ready to fire, Another Wil shapes as an emerging WFA star for Ciaron Maher. He’s been screwed down and primed off a strong Cranbourne jumpout win – settling midfield and finishing off nicely. Last prep, he successfully swooped first-up against a slow tempo, showing his turn of foot. With a solid foundation and the Orr Stakes in sight, he looks set to strike – can he beat Mr Brightside…I think so!

Prices correct as of 3.45pm AEDT Friday, February 7th
